A null hypothesis is a precise statement or
proposition that undergoes verification to
determine if it should be accepted or rejected
in favour of an alternative proposition. The
null hypothesis usually states that there is
no statistical significance between the two
variables in the hypothesis.and is expressed
as "There is no relationship between two
quantities." A researcher aims to disprove
it to demonstrate that there is a statistically-
significant relationship between the two
variables in the hypothesis. This is the basis
of the success of the research study.
Qualitative research collects and works
with non-numerical data to study targeted
populations or places and seeks to interpret
meaning from these data. Quantitative
research, on the other hand, uses data
analysis of numerical data with positive
assumptions for determining causal and
correlative relationships between variables.
