138. Identify the open-ended problem.

  • Option : A
  • Explanation : For 1. Given dimensions of cuboid arc 5 cm, 2 cm and 5 cm.
    Here, LCM of 5 , 2 and 5 is 10.
    5 x 2 = 10; 2 x 5 = 10; 5 x 2 = 10.
Hence, the minimum number of cuboids require to form a cube
    = 2 x 5 x 2 = 20.
Since it has more than one correct answers, it is an open-ended problem.
    For 2.
    uptetfeb14 q118_2
    For 3.
    10 = 2 x 5; Cube of 10 = (10)3 or (2 x 5)3.
Since it has more than one ways for finding cube so it is an open-ended problem.
    For 4.
Numbers whose cube is more than 64 are 5,6,7,8,9.
Since it has more than one correct answers so it is also an open-ended problem.

140. In the figure given below, if ∠OAB = 40°,
uptetfeb14/q124
then ∠ACB is equal to

  • Option : A
  • Explanation : In ΔOAB, OA = OB (Radius of the circle)
    ∴ ∠OBA = ∠OAB = 40°
    ⇒ ∠AOB = 180° - ∠OAB - ∠OBA = l80° - 80°
    i.e. ∠AOB =100°
    ⇒ ∠ACB = 1/2∠AOB [Degree measure theorem]
    ∠ACB=50°
