CTET Maths MCQ - Algebra
Let the number of hens and goats be x and y, respectively.
x + y = 77 .......(i)
and 2x + 4y = 248 ........(ii)
Solving the above two equations, we get
y = 47
and x = 30
x + y = 77 .......(i)
and 2x + 4y = 248 ........(ii)
Solving the above two equations, we get
y = 47
and x = 30
Let the two consecutive even number be x and (x + 2).
According to the question.
(x + 2)2- x2 = 84
x2 + 4 + 4x - x2 = 84
4x = 80 => x = 20
So, the sum is 20 + 22 = 42
According to the question.
(x + 2)2- x2 = 84
x2 + 4 + 4x - x2 = 84
4x = 80 => x = 20
So, the sum is 20 + 22 = 42

If A,B, C and D are four numbers
such that A:B = 2: 3, B:C =4: 5,
C:D = 5:8, then A: D is equal to
Given, A/B= 2/3 , B/C = 4/5 , C/D = 5/8
A/D = A/B × B/C × C/D = 2/3 × 4/5 × 5/8
= 1/3
