1Out of 40 students, 14 are taking English composition and 29 are taking Chemistry. If 5 students are in both classes, then how many students are in neither class? How many are in either class?

Alternatively: Students taking either English composition or Chemistry = 14 + 29 – 5 = 38
Hence, students not taking any class = 40 − 38 = 2
