Explanation : Let the age of A be 6x yr and age of B be 5x yr, respectively.
According to the question,
6x + 5x = 44 => 11x = 44
x = 4
∴ The ratio of A and B after 8 yrs
= (6x + 8)/(5x + 8)
= (24 + 8)/(20 + 8)
= 32/28 = 8/7.
