Explanation : Government of India, initiated “Structural
Adjustment Programme” since July 1991. It is
also known as new economic policy of 1991.
The objective is to make the Indian Economy
more outward oriented and to provide “free
play of market forces”. Globalization can not
be successful without liberalization. By the
term “Liberalization” we means the removal
of unnecessary control in laws and procedures,
and “Globalization,” on the other hand means
the opening of the economy to the world by
removing barriers against free flow of trade,
technology and investment.
