Explanation : Aslow-onset disaster is defined as one that
does not emerge from a single, distinct event
but one that emerges gradually over time,
often based on a confluence of different
events. Drought, insect infestations, and
disease epidemic are some examples of
slow onset. Droughts are relatively slow
disasters. Climate change, environmental
degradation and desertification are very
slow onset events, but can and should be
considered as disasters in terms of the
damage and disruption to lives that they
mayor indeed already do create.
