Explanation : Optical storage is any storage type in which
data is written and read with a laser. Typically,
data is written to optical media, such as
compact discs (CDs) and DVDs. The most
common example of the storage medium is
the CD, DVD, and Blu-ray discs. CD-ROM,
DVD-ROM, are read-only optical Discs.
Blu-Ray, HD-DVD are high capacity optical
Discs while CD-R & DVD-R are recordable
optical discs and CD-RW & DVD-RW are
re-writable optical discs.
