Explanation : The Sustainable Development Goals
(SDGs), also known as the Global Goals,
were adopted by all United Nations
Member States in 2015 as a universal
call to action to end poverty, protect
the planet and ensure that all people
enjoy peace and prosperity by 2030.
The General Assembly adopted the 2030
Agenda for Sustainable Development that
includes 17 Sustainable Development
Goals (SDGs). Some important SDGs are
No Poverty, Zero Hunger, Good Health and
Well-Being, Quality Education, Gender
Equality, Clean Water and Sanitation and
Climate Action. Within these goals there
are 169 targets, to put a bit of meat on the
bones.
