What is UGC NET Exam for commerce?

NET is National Eligibility Test. This is an entrance exam conducted by UGC (university grant commission) at national level to select the eligible candidate for JRF (Junior Research Fellowship) or assistant professor, professors.

When you finish your Master’s degree in Commerce and you want to pursue the carrier in academic as JRF or professor then UGC-NET is the perfect place for you.

Exam Pattern: UGC NET for Commerce exam consider 2 papers which will happen on same day at same time without any break.

Paper 1 will be based on general aptitude and research which is common for all the fields. It will have 50 questions carrying 2 marks each.

Paper 2 will be based on your chosen subjects. It will have 100 questions and all 150 questions will be objective type.

The duration of the exam will be 3 hours.

ELIGIBILITY FOR UGC NET COMMERCE :

Let’s check out whether you are eligible or not for the UGC NET Commerce Exam. As per the UGC NET Commerce Exam, candidates must have completed their post-graduation in Commerce, Business Services, Economics, Accountancy, or other subjects related to Commerce with securing at least 55% in his/her post-graduation. There is a 5% percentage relaxation for ST/SC/OBC/PWD. It is conducted in 84 streams of which one is UGC NET Commerce. This paper is usually opted by candidates who have completed their post-graduation in Commerce and are looking for good career options in the field.

NTA UGC NET is also known as UGC NET, conducted by CBSE on behalf of the University Grants Commission (UGC). The exam which held for the post of Assistant Professor and/or Junior Research Fellowship award in Indian universities and colleges to test the eligibility of the candidates for a given post. UGC NET Commerce Educational Qualification:

  • The candidate must have completed his/her post-graduation in Commerce, Business Services, Economics, Accountancy, or other subjects related to Commerce.
  • The candidate must have secured at least 55% in his/her post-graduation. For ST/SC/OBC/PWD there is a relaxation of 5%.

 

Age Limit:

  • Candidates appearing for JRF must be of 30 years or less. ST/SC/OBC/PWD candidates get a relaxation of 5 years.
  • There is no age limit for candidates appearing for the post of Assistant Professor.

PAPER PATTERN OF UGC NET COMMERCE :

Here we have UGC NET Commerce paper pattern. UGC NET Exam is conducted in two papers – Paper 1 and 2. Paper 1 is common for all and it consists of questions from the topic General Aptitude, Reasoning, Teaching Aptitude, Research Aptitude, etc, and Paper 2 consists of questions from an only core subject (here we are talking about– UGC NET Commerce (Paper 2)). What is UGC net salary?

It depends on the demand of the subject and also on the expertise. If you have qualified NET it means you are very strong in your concepts. UGC NET provides you with the ticket for lectureship throughout the nation. After you qualify the UGC NET exam, you are eligible to apply either in private college or in Govt. College. You can get easily RS 45,000 per month as assistant professor. Once you get promoted to associate professor, salary gets almost it’s double and you can get RS.80, 000 per month. And once you are professor your salary will be RS.  82,000 per month.

 

Can MCOM students apply for NET exam?

The basic requirement to appear in NET exam is to have master’s degree and yes, Mcom students can apply for UGC NET exam to get awarded with JRF or Lectureship. But to apply for NET after Mcom candidate must possess with few conditions which are as below:

  1. To apply for NET exam after Mcom, first requirement is to score minimum of 55% marks. Final year student can also apply for it but for these candidates they must have to show their degree within a year after giving NET exam, otherwise the candidate will be disqualified.
  2. There is also a condition on age, which should not be more than 30 if you are applying for JRF but there is no upper age limit for assistant professor.

Is CA eligible for NET commerce?

Yes a Charted Accountant is eligible to appear in UGC NET.
University Grant Commission (UGC) has taken a brilliant step to declare that all qualified Chartered Accountant (CA), Company Secretary (CS) and Cost and Works Accountants (ICWA) will now be considered as equivalent to Post Graduation (PG) Degree so that they can apply for the UGC NET exam.

 

How can I get job after clearing UGC NET?

Once your UGC NET exams is qualified, you will get an official UGC NET E-Certificate for lectureship or JRF award. This is the ticket which helps you too apply for JRF or assistant professor job in PAN India. Using this e-certificate, you can apply for the job at different universities and colleges from their official job portal. You will have to crack the personal interview round if the college demands so.
